Dundee Law School is pleased to offer two PhD Scholarships for the September 2013 entry to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. With excellent doctoral facilities and a commitment to producing research of the highest quality, Dundee Law School offers an intellectually stimulating environment in which to pursue your research.
We welcome applications from those intending to pursue their academic studies, particularly, but not exclusively, in areas that correspond with our existing research interests:

Applicants should have a good honours degree in law, an unconditional offer of a place on the Law School’s PhD programme and a commitment to excellence in teaching and teaching related activities.
The recipients of the scholarship will be responsible to the Dean of the Law School and in addition to pursuing their PhD studies, will be expected to undertake teaching and teaching-related duties as required, not normally exceeding six hours per week during semester time. Teaching will be on the undergraduate law degree programmes. The University of Dundee offers qualifying undergraduate degrees in Scots and English Law and successful candidates will be expected to have the expertise to teach on one or other of these programmes. The Scholarship is for a total of £15,000 per annum, inclusive of fees, for three years subject to satisfactory annual reviews. Candidates are expected to hold an offer of a place on the PhD programme at the University of Dundee School of Law.
