Companies With Good Governance Practices Are Most Valued

The CEO of the Capital Market Commission (CMC), Archer Mangueira, said on Friday in Luanda that empirical studies from various sources show that companies that adopt good corporate governance practices are most valued by investors.

According to the official, who was speaking at the V Forum on Corporate Governance in Angola, the adoption of good governance practices is intended to give all stakeholders a clear perception, transparent and confidence about the way decisions are made in companies.

According to him, the Capital Market Commission seeks to encourage the introduction in the day-to-day business of companies, of the best practices adopted in jurisdictions of reference, to create an environment of trust necessary for the emergence of open societies with dispersed ownership in the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (Bodiva).

The Angolan Capital Market Commission is the regulatory authority, supervisory and oversight of securities market, having also received the mandate of the Executive for their promotion.
