Queen’s University Faculty of Law invites applications for one tenure-track or tenured appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor to begin no later than September 1, 2013.
Job Qualifications: The Faculty is particularly interested in applicants whose research and teaching interests focus on business law, labour and employment law, and/or property law. The main criterion for selection is academic and teaching excellence. The successful candidate will exhibit strong potential for innovative and high quality scholarly research leading to peer assessed publications, as well as for outstanding teaching contributions and an ongoing commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence, in support of the Faculty’s programs. The successful candidate will also be expected to make substantive contributions through service to the Faculty, to the University, and/or the broader community. Except in exceptional circumstances, the successful candidate will have a J.D./LL.B. or equivalent and a doctorate in law or a cognate discipline. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the qualifications of the candidate.

Application Procedure: Each application must include a curriculum vitae, copies of all university transcripts, copies of sample publications, a brief statement of current and prospective research interests, and a statement on teaching experience or potential, including any available course outlines and evaluations. It is the responsibility of each applicant to have letters from at least three referees sent directly to the address below. PDF letters of reference are also preferred. Writing samples will not be returned and incomplete applications may not be considered.
Applicants should submit their file along with letters from referees by June 30, 2013. However, if letters from referees are not available by this date, they should be submitted as soon thereafter as is possible. The Committee may still consider applications after this date.
